About Mitchel
I am studying an MA in European History and Politics at Columbia University. I specialised in Feminism and Disability politics in postmodern artists at the Courtauld Institute of Art.
My tutoring experience and wide academic interests allows me to create engaging conversation and rapports with my students. I enjoy elaborating on the subjects, broadening topics and simplifying the core materials. I enjoy developing the subjects through dialogue and allow curiosity to drive our focus, while creating crucial links with tested matter.
I have a valid, Enhanced DBS check and have worked with students from the age of 16-21. I am happy to meet for a consultation in order to establish interests and goals for our lessons.

I endeavour to create engaging lessons that inform students about the artist, artworks and contexts from the ground up. My extensive reading around various areas of art history, literature, critical theory and philosophy allows me to establish informative and expansive perspectives. I have taught in cities of major interest, such as Rome, Florence, Venice, Paris and Naples to students at Oxford, St Andrews, Edinburgh, Stanford, and Yale. I have a degree in History of Art from the Courtauld Institute of Art. I have experience tutoring at all ages, creating dynamic lesson plans and teaching a variety of subjects tailored to an individual’s needs or a set syllabus. I am happy to teach at any time of the day, from 30 to 90 minutes in length.
