About Mariya
I am a recent graduate on a gap year between my bachelors and my masters. I loved my History degree, where I pursued a diverse array of modules, from Greek Myths, to the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, to late medieval Mediterranean cities. My dissertation focused on using folklore as a historical source , and I will likely go into academia pursuing a similar research vein!
I am also a writer, mostly of sci-fi, fantasy and magical realism stories, and was very involved with writers' communities in university, as well as taking a Creative Writing module. I choreograph and teach dance as well, which is a rewarding opportunity to have in London with its vibrant dance community.
I am Ukrainian-born, raised in Luxembourg, and speak Ukrainian, Russian, French and some German, so if you are in need of a teacher who speaks one of those, I can use my languages to support my teaching.
