About Alex
Hi! My name is Alex and I'm a PhD student at the University of Leeds. I have taught throughout my academic career to GCSE, A Level, Undergraduate and Masters students, as well as made use of personal tutors to further my own development - so I know exactly how you're feeling sitting on the other side of this arrangement! I am a flexible tutor with a proven track record in both classrooms and a 1:1 context. I myself have made use of 1:1 tutoring as a student to study languages and so have a good insight into what works and what doesn't. Lessons will be fundamentally flexible, able to adapt to your current needs. My approach builds from an assessment of your learning style to a plan that targets your skills and desired areas of development. I pride myself on being able to instil a confidence backed by genuine proficiency in students, with a continual focus on a strong and reflective understanding of capabilities. My lessons are ideally broken down into hour slots - be that one or two. I consider three hours on the extreme end - any longer and I personally feel it can become overwhelming in one sitting. My lessons and capabilities cover students from GCSE and A-Level to Masters Level.
