About Joe
Hola! My name is Joe, I am a 24 year old half Spanish, half English graduate living in Bristol, working for the NHS.
I have extensive experience speaking Spanish having studied it at university, A-levels, GCSE and speaking it amongst my family all my life. I understand how daunting speaking another language can be and I am keen to help!
Through my education I have developed an in-depth understanding of grammar, and developed a broad vocabulary. I have lived in different parts of Spain for 4 years as well as travelled across South America. This has given me an extensive cultural and linguistic understanding, and I would love to help you develop your style of Spanish to something that is both accurate, authentic and enjoyable to use.
I really encourage expression and speaking, and am well practised in helping others having supported my own family members in completing their GCSEs.
Studying at university and travelling has meant I have lived and experienced a broad range of Hispanic culture first hand and I am confident I will be able to tailor this to topics covered in your classes.
My teaching is tailored primarily towards A-level and GCSE students, I have passed these exams myself and understand both the knowledge and confidence for success.
I can pass on what tips I have learnt from the educational environments I have studied in, and how to apply them to exam-style situations.
I’ll start by breaking down areas of doubt into small clear and logical steps, implementing them as we go. I completed a TEFL qualification so I am trained in various teaching styles that I can use to work best for you.
I understand the importance of celebrating linguistic development, and I make this a key part of my teaching style. I am a firm believer that confidence is the first step to success when speaking another language. My goal is to give you the confidence by enriching your preparation and revision through unique and relatable conversation, and hopefully inspire you to take your language beyond the classroom environment and into the real world.

My lessons are one-hour, 121 sessions designed to meet your needs. I will tailor the focus of each lesson to the conversations we have. I will aim to be dynamic and draw connections from all parts of the syllabus when covering specific areas.
I do this to create the idea of a structural support system within your Spanish learning and mind, so that you feel you can turn to your own knowledge in times of doubt.
Having completed my Spanish classroom education and recently helped students in their GCSE year, I know exactly what is involved at exams and what is expected from you. I will use this experience to help guide your revision using practice questions, vocab tests, and speaking and writing tasks. I want to help you approach your exams feeling confident and relaxed.
I draw on my real-life experience with Spanish to make lessons engaging, relatable, and enjoyable. I understand the principles behind effective language retention, and using real-world examples is often the best way to learn. I’m committed to helping you improve as effectively as possible.
