About Holly
I developed a passion for teaching and working with children at a young age and have been fortunate enough to teach both secondary and primary students as a teaching assistant and in youth work contexts. I am able to develop a rapport quickly with my students and stay true to my philosophy that positive relationships create the best environment for learning and growing. I believe in developing a child's passion for learning, confidence in their ability and the skills they need to guide themselves through independent learning.

Hi I'm Holly! I offer a specific tutoring service for parents/carers who would like to help their child progress in their phonics knowledge, reading, writing and spelling.
I am able to create personalised phonics lessons for your primary age child to develop their literacy skills. Literacy is foundational to learning and every subject will benefit from your child's improved phonics.
I can offer lessons which run from 20 minutes to an hour, depending on your child's access needs. I use spaced retrieval to help my students recall and cement their knowledge. I also use questioning techniques which my students can use themselves to become independent learners who investigate and problem solve.
I have experience of creating tailored one to one and group sessions to improve the phonics of students with all kinds of learning needs. I can help with difficulties around speech and language when learning phonics and take your child's segmenting and decoding skills to the next level.
