As a tutor, I typically read a short story or article with the student and ask them to write a prompt-based essay on the text in question. After that, a lecture is given on grammar/essay-writing/test prep. My mock SAT score for English was a 740, my SSAT percentile was a 98, and I have a year of teaching experience in ELA. My classes are for 6th to 9th graders taking algebra as a course.
