Hello! I’m Shelby Kate Garner, a dedicated dance teacher with over 13 years of training and a true passion for dance and working with children. As a Senior Nutrition major at Texas A&M, I bring discipline, patience, and enthusiasm to every lesson. I currently teach at Suzanne’s School of Dance, where I focus on helping each student build strong technique, confidence, and a genuine love for movement. I love inspiring kids to express themselves through dance while developing their skills in a fun and supportive environment. My teaching style is patient, encouraging, and personalized to meet each dancer’s unique needs. Whether your child is just starting or advancing their skills, I’m committed to guiding them every step of the way with care and dedication.

As a private dance teacher, I create a fun, encouraging, and structured environment where students can grow in both skill and confidence. My teaching method focuses on building strong technical foundations while nurturing each dancer’s creativity and love for movement. I incorporate positive reinforcement, age-appropriate challenges, and clear, step-by-step instruction to help dancers feel supported and successful.
A typical lesson begins with a warm-up and stretching, followed by technique drills, choreography, and cool-down exercises. I personalize each lesson to meet the dancer’s age, level, and goals—whether that’s building confidence, mastering basics, or preparing for performances.
With over 13 years of dance training and current experience teaching at Suzanne’s School of Dance, I bring both experience and energy to every session. I also have CPR, BLS, and CNA certifications, so safety is always a top priority.
My lessons are ideal for children and beginner to intermediate dancers who want focused, one-on-one instruction in a joyful, supportive space.
