About Baxter
I'm a passionate performer & composer playing guitar for 12 years. Currently completing a Bachelor of Music at JMC after graduating from Wollongong Performing Arts with a HSC Music 1 score of 94. I play in 2 bands and compose soundtracks for animation & video game projects at JMC Academy. Born in Sydney but grew up in Singapore from the ages 4-16, I returned to Australia to complete my HSC school years. I am a people person who loves to make friends, go to live events and surround myself with different communities that celebrate diversity and being kind to each other.

Whether focusing on HSC composition, exam & performance preparations, tutoring guitar or a combination of all, I plan One-on-One fun sessions around the students interests & objectives.
I approach guitar tuition for any age group by understanding the artists and styles that inspire a student. I split lessons by first practising the fundamental techniques & musical understandings that their inspirations use then applying the practise to playing songs.
For preparing for HSC exams, I use my experiences and pre-existing exam questions in timed writing practises. I focus on teaching use of musical language, and applying it to a response structure that scores the most marks.
For HSC composition & performance prep., I focus on understanding the student's musical intent and working to fill gaps for the HSC requirements. This includes developing musical variety, showcasing range, and the final delivery of student's work.
