Sid and I first met at ILAC, which is an ESL school here in Toronto. She was my teacher for a month when I first arrived. Sid is incredibly talented and smart, and she always knew exactly how to help us improve. My English was actually pretty good compared to the others, but my grammar needed work, so she constantly helped me fix it.

I remember feeling so annoyed that I couldn't move up to the next level even though my speaking was way better than the rest of the class. But Sid was so encouraging. She told me not to worry about it, and we joked that maybe I just really suck at taking tests!
