About Thomas
With over 20 years of teaching experience, I bring a friendly yet highly professional approach to every lesson. I’m DELTA-qualified, hold a PGCert in Teaching English for Academic Purposes, and currently lecture in English for university students. My passion is helping learners unlock their full potential and achieve their target IELTS score whilst also improving academic writing and building confidence in communication. Students describe my lessons as supportive, structured, and motivating. I take pride in creating a calm, encouraging learning environment where progress feels natural and success is achievable.

My IELTS lessons are practical, engaging, and designed around each learner’s goals. I focus on building confidence and exam technique through a mix of authentic materials, targeted practice, and personalised feedback. Lessons usually last 60–90 minutes and include speaking, writing, listening, and reading components, with a special focus on the areas that make the biggest difference to your band score target. As a DELTA-qualified university lecturer with a PGCert in Teaching English for Academic Purposes (TEAP) and over 20 years of experience, I’ve helped hundreds of students succeed in IELTS and academic English. My approach combines clear explanations, supportive guidance, and real-world academic insights, helping learners understand what to do and why to do it.
