About Shea
I am an experienced guitar tutor with 12 years of teaching high school and college students. I have successfully taught between 200 and 300 students, helping each one develop their unique musical voice. My teaching philosophy is centered around creativity and self-expression. I believe that every student has their own style and potential, and I strive to help them discover and refine it.
I use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on practice and real-life examples, to make learning engaging and relevant. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable exploring their musical interests.
One of my notable achievements is preparing students for performances, which has helped them gain confidence and showcase their skills. I also encourage collaboration among students, allowing them to learn from one another. I am passionate about helping my students succeed and develop a lifelong love for playing the guitar. Using real-life examples and case studies, I help students understand how guitar skills apply in various musical contexts, from playing in a band to songwriting. This makes learning relevant and engaging. I also emphasize collaboration, encouraging students to play together and share their musical journeys. This builds teamwork skills and enhances their overall learning experience.
In addition to guitar, I can teach related subjects such as music theory, songwriting, and ear training. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students can grow as musicians and gain confidence in their abilities. Together, we will work towards achieving your musical goals and developing a lifelong love for playing the guitar.
