About Shiv

Hi! I'm Shiv Kumar Modi, a Software Development Engineer at Amazon and an M.Tech graduate in Computer Science and Information Security from IIIT Hyderabad.

I have professional software engineering experience across Amazon, Human Powered Health Technologies, and Cognizant, where I have worked with Java, Python, backend development, and real-world software systems.

I secured 98.2 percentile in GATE CSE and have solved 450+ Data Structures and Algorithms problems on LeetCode. My own journey through competitive exams, coding interviews, and software engineering has given me a practical understanding of the challenges students face while preparing for placements.

I have also had the opportunity to teach DSA at an engineering college, which strengthened my interest in helping students learn programming and problem-solving.

What makes my teaching different?

- I focus on understanding concepts rather than memorizing solutions.
- I explain brute-force approaches before introducing optimized techniques.
- I connect DSA concepts with practical coding and interview scenarios.
- I encourage students to ask questions and develop their own problem-solving approach.
- I adapt my explanations based on each student's current skill level.

My classes are suitable for beginners, B.Tech students, placement aspirants, and working professionals preparing for technical interviews.

My goal is simple: to make DSA easier to understand and help students become confident, independent problem solvers.

English

I believe in teaching Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA) through simple explanations, practical examples, and hands-on problem-solving rather than memorizing solutions.

As an M.Tech graduate from IIIT Hyderabad with professional software engineering experience at Amazon, Humango, and Cognizant, I help students build strong programming fundamentals and develop the confidence to solve coding problems independently.

My Teaching Approach:
- Start with basic concepts and real-world examples.
- Explain brute-force approaches before moving to optimized solutions.
- Teach time and space complexity analysis.
- Practice LeetCode-style coding and interview questions.
- Encourage students to think independently, with hints and step-by-step guidance.
- Provide practice problems and discuss doubts.

Typical Class Structure:
1. Quick revision of previous concepts.
2. Explanation of a new DSA topic with examples.
3. Live coding and problem-solving.
4. Student practice and doubt clarification.
5. Homework and suggestions for improvement.

Who Can Join?

My classes are suitable for college students, beginners learning Java or Python, placement aspirants, and working professionals preparing for coding interviews.

Whether you are starting DSA from scratch or struggling with LeetCode problems, my goal is to help you understand the logic behind solutions and become a confident problem solver.
