About Sumit Singh
My name is Sumit Singh Thakur, and I am from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. I completed my schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 3, Bhopal, where I developed a strong interest in Physics and Mathematics. I went on to pursue a dual-degree program in Civil Engineering at IIT Madras, completing both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees.
During my time at IIT Madras, I also explored subjects beyond engineering, including Society and History, Contemporary Issues in Development, Self-Awareness, and Integral Karma Yoga. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. at IIT Jammu.
My interest in teaching comes from my own academic journey and my belief that understanding concepts is only the first step—learning to apply them through problem-solving is what builds real confidence. I want to help students develop a strong conceptual foundation, improve their problem-solving skills, understand their strengths and weaknesses, and prepare themselves mentally for the demands of competitive examinations such as JEE and NEET.
I want to share my knowledge because I believe that a good teacher should not simply provide answers, but should teach students how to think, approach a problem, learn from mistakes, and become independent problem-solvers. My aim is to make students more confident, systematic, and comfortable with challenging questions while helping them develop the discipline and mindset needed to perform well in a three-hour competitive examination.

The JEE Mathematics and Physics syllabi are vast, and the NEET Physics syllabus is also extensive. However, there are certain important concepts that need to be emphasized and understood thoroughly.
More importantly, problem-solving is what helps you retain and strengthen these concepts. The more problems you solve, the more comfortable and efficient you become with applying the concepts.
Apart from problem-solving, it is equally important to understand the exam pattern and train ourselves to sit and perform effectively for the entire duration of the examination. Therefore, along with solving problems, we also need to develop the habit of sitting for long periods with focus and concentration.
I am here to help you work through the questions you are struggling with, identify where you are getting stuck, and gradually build your problem-solving ability. More importantly, I will help you develop the mindset and strategy required to handle a three-hour examination, while understanding and working on your individual strengths and weaknesses.
I am fluent in Hindi and English.
