About Nihal
I am French and have been living in Dundee for almost 30 years. I have a PhD in Information Technology and continue to work on my project as an Independent Researcher. I started to teach French at the University of Dundee for the Open Learning classes more than 20 years ago. I also worked as a language consultant for Michelin and naturally I have had many tutees over the years here in Dundee but also in France where I have taught practical French to British expats during the summer and help them navigate administrative matters. I like teaching and making sure people become enthusiastic and autonomous with their learning experience. Learning a language can be more than a practical experience. It can become an invaluable manner to widen your perscpetive on the world and reflect back on your own culture.

I will naturally listen to your expectations and craft a lesson accordingly. The pace can be intense or more relaxed depending on what you can take in. I will also spend a bit of time teaching you some basic principles which will hopefully help you enjoy your learning experience. These include understanding how your brain learns, the differences between French and English so you can form realistic expectations when you learn and avoid the common sort of mental blockages that usually occur when one tries to learn a new language. I will also share with you some tips and learning techniques to better apprehend grammar and pronunciation. The only thing I will ask you to do is come to your lesson as a curious, open and relaxed learner.

Details
I will be happy to consider classes that last 1h30 for £30. These can be quite intense if you are keen and can take it in. Also, I would rather teach at home but if you would prefer me to come to your place, provided you live in Dundee or the Ferry, I will be happy to accommodate. in such case, I will add travel costs (bus fare) to my fee.
