About MeeNa
I'm a game developer and educator based in the United States. I’ve worked with Newgrounds, Microsoft, and various indie teams as a freelance pixel artist. I work to build creative communities through game development, bridging dialogues between STEM and art. I design open-source game development assets and organize workshops to make education more accessible. You can see some of my artwork in educational resources such as Microsoft’s MakeCode Arcade. I’ve also presented lectures and workshops with the Processing Foundation, The New School, Playcrafting, and various other organizations to spread my love of pixel art.

I am a game developer with over 6 years of industry experience and over a decade of teaching experience. I've taught game asset design to K-12 and university students. With this experience, I can provide students with insights to what schools and industry studios are looking for in potential artists.
I cater each lesson plan to each student: I like to start each session with getting a sense of my students' personal and professional aspirations and by providing feedback on their portfolios. From there, we'll collaborate on designing a unique lesson plan based on strengthening your portfolio to fit your goals. This lesson plan will include various drawing exercises and a final large project at the end of the session.
I'm also a specialist in pixel art and illustration. I have a 4-6 week curriculum where students can learn pixel art fundamentals and design their first tile sets and sprite animations.
