About Justin
I am an experienced teacher and developer who loves to help people learn how to program computers. I teach lessons from the ground up; learning the fundamentals of programming as a skill all the way to design patterns and finished projects. I've worked in web development with PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL; in mobile app development with Java on Android, Swift on iOS, and the Dart language for multi-platform development; and even the game industry with the Unity Game engine, Unreal Engine, Godot, and custom engines. In the realm of teaching I've been tutoring for the last four and a half years -- helping many students with their projects, complete their exams, or even learn from scratch. I use an all encompassing approach with teaching computer programming as a skill, separate of any specific programming language. This helps my students learn how to view problems in terms of the method of solving then applying the language they need to use.
I prefer to teach any experience level from age 13 and up. I only ask that you come with a desire to learn, have fun, and become the best programmer you can be.
Typical lesson plans follow a simple structure involving learning the fundamentals of the skill, condition logic, structures of code, then how those all apply to a couple of programming languages. From there the lessons will be customized to the student to ensure that they can learn in a way tailored to them.
