About Anya
I love maths and thoroughly enjoy teaching it to others. I have taught several students so far from S1 and up to Higher. I am currently studying Informatics at the University of Edinburgh, for which mathematics courses are mandatory. In S6 I received all A-grades in Advanced Higher Maths, Physics and Chemistry and in Higher Human Biology. I also received 5As in Higher Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Computing Science and Psychology in S5. When I was 13 I decided I wanted to try out computing science, having not chosen it as one of my subjects in S3. With the help of an amazing tutor, I managed to 'crash' National 5 Computing Science and pass it with an A. Now, a few years later, I am a Computer Science student at the University of Edinburgh. I hope to be the person for someone else that will inspire love for a subject.

To teach maths, I use analogies to help my students grasp certain concepts. When I give students problems to solve, I make sure they are challenging but doable. I try and keep the lesson light-hearted so that the student enjoys learning the subject more, meaning they are more likely to stay consistent with their studies. I typically teach one hour sessions twice a week, but I am flexible and happy to tutor any number of hours a week.
