About Andrew
International Concert Pianist, Andrew Yiangou, has recently been selected as one of the fourteen semifinalist’s to participate in the 12th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition 2020 in Utrecht. He was a recipient of the prestigious Mills Williams Junior Fellowship whilst studying at the Royal College of Music where he studied with Professors Norma Fisher, Vanessa Latarche and Gordon Fergus-Thompson. He was awarded multiple scholarships including support for his studies from the Tillet Trust and Eileen Rowe Musical Award Trust.
Andrew has worked with artists such as Robert Levin, Ya-Fei Chuang, Stephen Hough, Lang Lang, Charles Owen, Kathryn Stott, Peter Jablonski and Boaz Sharon, and has won prizes at international competitions including the ‘3rd Gershwin International Piano Competition’ in New York, ’Bromsgrove International Competition’ and the ‘Norah Sande Award’ in the UK, the ‘WPTA International Piano Competition’ in Novi Sad, Serbia, the ‘19th International Petar Konjovic Piano Competition’ in Belgrade, Serbia, and the ‘International Piano Festival Poros’ in Greece. He has worked with artists from various chamber ensembles including the Bardolino Trio, Elias Quartet, Callino Quartet, Cherubini Quartet and the Heine Quartet.
Andrew has performed at various venues in the UK including Royal Festival Hall, Cadogan Hall, St. James’s Piccadilly, Steinway Hall, St. Lawrence Jewry, St. Barnabas Ealing and St. Mary's Perivale. He has travelled all over the world to perform in countries including USA, Serbia, Greece, Netherlands, Norway, Germany, Belgium, Spain, France and Poland. With orchestra he has performed Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No.1, Saint Saens’ 2nd Piano Concerto and the Grieg Piano Concerto with various orchestras including the Ealing Youth Orchestra, Ealing Symphony Orchestra, City of Rochester Symphony Orchestra, Bedford County Youth Orchestra and Dorking Philharmonia.
The repertoire he performs not only includes the greatest works by mainstream composers but also the music of lesser known composers such as Nikolai Kapustin, Leopold Godowsky, Charles-Valentin Alkan, Nikolai Medtner, Georgy Catorie and Sergei Lyapunov.

Perfect! Andrew is a fantastic teacher. Very patient and always bang on time with calls. Just a few lessons in but I know I will get far with Andrew.

Perfect! Our daughter has been taught by Andrew, for the last few months and all online. Andrew is a great pianist and an excellent teacher, with him our child has finally got a dedicated teacher. 1h od full dedication, respect, listening, and teaching. The methods used are defiantly supporting will to learn and to grow in confidence, which is crucial. Andrew listens to the parents and building a lovely, respectful relationship with students, which fills them with smiles whilst they are progressing. Andrew is also a very calm and patient and full of understanding.

Simply a maestro! Andrew is a dear friend, one of the greatest pianists, a definite scholar and a patient tutor! Rest assured he will be a great guide on the path towards music!
Andrew Yiangou is first of all a very good musician and pianist. He has a great ability to communicate both through his music making and by talking and explaining his musicial vision on any composer or piece. Therefore, he would definitely be a great and trustworthy tutor, for anyone willing to learn playing the piano or improving his/her existing skills.
