About Xuran
I’m a career coach with a non-traditional background spanning engineering, venture capital, entrepreneurship, and the Australian mining industry.
I completed my undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in the United States, worked in the Beijing office of a USD venture capital fund, and later founded my own startup.
I then moved to Australia and studied Mining Engineering at UWA. As an international student with no previous mining industry experience, I successfully broke into the Australian resources sector, joined the world's top mining company, and have since transitioned into a permanent role.
Because I’ve personally navigated multiple career changes, industries, countries, and recruitment processes, I understand how difficult it can be to position yourself when your background doesn’t follow a traditional path.
I now help students, graduates, engineers, international candidates, and career changers improve their CV, interview skills, job-search strategy, and overall career positioning — particularly for engineering, mining and broader professional roles in Australia.
