About Anushray
Anushray Singh is an award-winning filmmaker, media professional, educator, and writer who divides his time between India and Canada. He has received his MFA in Film & Media Arts from the University of Windsor (2020) and B.Tech in Civil Engineering from the Vellore Institute of Technology (2017).
For the last couple of years, Anushray has worked with students across globe in the capacity of an advisor, teaching assistant, sessional professor and project supervisor.
His teaching, art practice and writing on film, media and South Asian cultures have been realized through affiliations across academia, digital media platforms, publications and non-profits across India, Canada, the UK, the US, and Europe.
His expertise, inklings and passions lie in: Video & Podcast Production, Filmmaking, Film Festival & Cultural Event Organization, Teaching & Research (Primarily Indian-South Asian cultures, Cinema, Media Literacy & Culture), and Writing (academic, zine, film, reviews, op-eds & creative genres).

This course Introduction to Photography is a result of successful activities, theory, lab exercises and philosophy, which I’ve found have been the most fruitful in making a person feel confident when they pick up any camera.
The objectives of the course are to make students:
1. Learn the basics of digital cameras, operations, contemporary models, and historical basis through class work and materials.
2. To meet modern requirements, allowing students to develop their own portfolios, artistic vocabulary, and creative know-how and,
3. Above all, engage in constructing their practice as visual artists and creative practitioners.
The introductory course aims to guide learners through the process of digital photography both as a technical and artistic medium.
Through comprehensive class materials, open lab exercises, assignments, class discussions and projects, students are equipped with resources to find a solid foundation in digital photography, photo editing software, creative conceptualization and philosophical basis.
