About Joan
I have taught Italian and French for 30+ years, and have permanent certification to teach both Italian and French 7-12 as well as on the college level and the International Baccalaureate Program. You should feel confident that you will be learning with an experienced, professional and learned teacher. I earned a triple major as Valedictorian of her college class with a B.A. in Italian/French/Education and an M.A. in Italian Literature. My passion for the Italian and French language and culture motivated me to travel extensively in Italy, France, Switzerland and other francophone countries.
I have taught at the Scuola d’Italia in New York City, Hawthorne High School in New Jersey, Don Bosco Preparatory High School in New Jersey, Pearl River High School in New York, and Somers High School in New York.
