With me, you will not only learn the language but also discover the richness of Italian culture. I believe that language is more than grammar and vocabulary – it is a bridge to connect people and open new opportunities.

  • 1) Do you speak this language fluently because of your origins or because a teacher inspired you to learn?

I speak Italian fluently because my family moved from Morocco to Italy when I was two and a half years old. Growing up here, Italian became my everyday language, the one I used at school, to build friendships, and to shape my identity.
  • 2) Can you name a living, historical or fictional character that you think is the emblematic representative of the language’s culture?

For me, an emblematic figure is Lucio Dalla, a singer-songwriter who was able to tell the story of Italy through his music and lyrics. With songs like Caruso or Attenti al lupo, he gave voice to the emotions, dreams, and ways of living of Italians, making the Italian language even more vivid and universal.
  • 3) Is there a typical word, phrase, tradition or behavior in the language that you particularly like?

The phrase I like the most is “Mamma mia”, because it is spontaneous, expressive, and captures all the energy and liveliness typical of Italians. It is simple, yet capable of conveying strong emotions in just a few syllables.
  • 4) Why does speaking this language matter to you?

It matters because Italian is the language that welcomed me and raised me. Speaking Italian means being part of a culture rich in people, traditions, and ways of living, and being able to share this richness with my students.
  • 5) What is the main difficulty in learning this language and what can help the process of learning?

The main difficulty is grammar, with its many rules and exceptions. However, reading books, listening to Italian music, and practicing everyday conversations help a lot to internalize the language naturally.
  • 6) Provide a valuable anecdote related to your language learning or your days at school.

I remember when, in elementary school, I started writing my first essays in Italian. My teacher always encouraged me to read them aloud. This helped me improve my pronunciation and made me feel more confident in expressing myself.
  • 7) How has travel or a specific trip helped you to increase your skill and knowledge of the language?

Traveling to different Italian cities has helped me a lot, not so much for the art or monuments, but for the people. Observing their different behaviors, listening to various accents and dialects, and experiencing everyday life in different contexts made me realize how Italian is a living and diverse language. It was human contact that made my knowledge of the language richer and more authentic.
  • 8) What makes you a Superprof in language?

What makes me a Superprof is my ability to teach Italian not only as a language, but as a life experience. I love sharing with students the variety of behaviors, expressions, and emotions that Italians carry with them. I am also inspired by an artist like Lucio Dalla, who through his songs was able to tell the story of Italy and its people with sensitivity and poetry. This human and cultural approach is what I bring to my lessons, making them engaging and authentic.
