About Margherita
I am Margherita, I am an experienced Italian and Latin tutor and graduate of Classics with 7 years of teaching experience both in Italy and UK.
I am also a qualified Italian teacher for foreign students.
After finishing high school, I studied for a BA in Political Science and an MA in International Relations and was awarded the Italian equivalent of 1st, but after I was offered the chance to train as a teacher of Italian as a foreign language, I realised that my dream was to teach. I have now been working as a teacher for 7 years. The first three of these were in Italy and since 2015 I have worked as a tutor in London. In this time I have also completed a degree in Classics and was awarded the Italian equivalent of 2:1.
As a tutor, I have inspired young people to be the best they can be through a variety of methods. For example, I have supported learners who had just arrived in Italy and knew nothing of the language. Obviously, I recognised how stressful and isolating this was for my students and was able to support them through carefully scaffolded learning and support.
My communication skills are excellent. I am fluent in Italian, Spanish, English and read and understand Ancient Greek and Latin.
I am an avid reader and my favourite genre is historical and realistic fiction. I am engaged and interested in the world around me and I take an interest in the latest scientific advances and discoveries. Among Ancient Greek authors, I loved above all Euripides and his timeless tragedies with their so controversial characters and themes that still have echoes in our world now. Of the Latin authors, I particularly enjoyed reading Seneca who taught me a lot, I am particularly inspired by his concept of time and the idea that we should absolutely avoid wasting it.
In my role as a teacher over the last 7 years, I have taught many students from a diverse range of nationalities, cultures, and age groups. The majority of students have been from English speaking countries, especially from Britain and America.

Perfect! Great Italian Tutor
Margherita was an excellent tutor and was a pleasure to meet with for our lessons. She was very flexible and came to my offices during the week as it more convenient for me. She was always very well prepared for our lessons with reading and listening exercises. My partner is Italian and he definitely noticed an improvement in the expansion of my language skills having spent time with Margherita. Unfortunately with a hectic work schedule I have had to take a break but I would definitely return to Margherita without hesitation.

Margherita taught my two kids (ages 8 and 11) for Italian and Latin respectively. They loved the lesson, and interviewing her afterwards it was clear that she really knew her trade. We would gladly have taken her on as a tutor permanently but for the fact that another tutor who is a friend of a friend turned up. I recommend her really warmly.
