About Ross
I’m a recent politics graduate from Cornwall, but more importantly I’ve been skating both street and transition for 18 years now. I’ve always enjoyed teaching people new tricks and giving advice, so this feels like a perfect outlet. I really hope I can help people to progress and get some fresh blood joining the skating community.

Before any teaching can be done we need do some stretching warm up a bit, after which I would assess the skater’s abilities and the general strengths and weaknesses to their style. Also I think it’s important to find out what the student expects to achieve from the lessons. Something simple like rolling down a slope? Or dropping in for the first time? Or maybe they want to learn more complicated stuff like tre flips or grinds. Once we’ve gotten through this I’ll be able to personalise the lesson somewhat, and we can focus on whatever the student is keen on.
If they’re unsure of what to learn or are an absolute beginner at skateboarding, we can go through the basics. Stances, board composition, truck looseness. Then onto the basic tricks: ollies, manuals, kickturns, etc.
