About Kimberley
I have a Master of Speech Pathology, a Bachelor of Arts (Writing), and I am currently completing a TEFL certificate. Professionally, I have experience working in primary schools as a speech pathology aide in the areas of grammar, vocabulary, articulation, and literacy (both one-to-one and in groups). I have also worked in recruitment, copywriting, marketing, and administration roles for several years, and I can assist with developing business English skills. My passion is to help people improve their ability to communicate, connect, and learn, through direct and indirect strategies and support. Whether it be a child studying for a test, an employee wishing to send a professional work email, or a traveler wanting to order a meal, I am here to help.
On a personal note, I am also studying Brazilian Portuguese from scratch, so I understand the feeling of trying to learn a totally different language!

I employ explicit instruction as a teaching approach (e.g. "I do, we do, you do"), which caters to a variety of learning styles and provides the greatest learning support. At the start of the lesson, I will provide you with an overview of what we are going to do and why. I will then demonstrate to you how to perform the activity, then we will practice together, and then you can try on your own. For group-work, I encourage reciprocal teaching (e.g. "think, pair, then share") to promote collaborative learning and boost confidence through peer-to-peer feedback and consolidation of knowledge.
