About Aubrey
My guitar teaching approach is structured, personalized, and built on solid musical foundations. I start by understanding each student’s goals—whether they want to lead worship, play fingerstyle, or build strong fundamentals. Lessons focus on ergonomic technique to prevent strain and support smooth playing for the long term. We cover open chords, power chords, and finger dexterity exercises to build control and confidence across the fretboard. I introduce theory in simple, clear steps, including Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature, so students can recognize progressions and write or analyze songs easily. Ear training is a key part of each lesson—we work on recognizing intervals, chord types, and matching pitch to develop strong musical instincts. I use real songs to teach rhythm, strumming patterns, and harmony in a way that feels natural and fun. For students interested in spiritual or solo playing, I guide them to find their sound while staying grounded in good technique. Each lesson is paced based on the student’s learning style, with regular reviews and feedback to stay on track. I believe in helping students express themselves, not just play notes. Practice strategies are shared to keep learning focused and stress-free. Whether you're playing for others or just for yourself, I’m here to support your growth.
