About Matthew
I've been playing for 18 years, and have a passion for teaching and playing. It brings joy to me, and I just want to help others find that same joy. I have a M.M in Jazz Performance from New England Conservatory of Music, and I've been fortunate to have studied/played with many great teachers and musicians. I play saxophone primarily, but can double on woodwinds and I play some piano and guitar. I can also teach basic composition. I think being a good teacher comes from connecting with your students, and making them feel encouraged and bold enough to make mistakes.

-Stresses fundamentals and applicability, cultivating musicianship, how to practice efficiently
-Can teach Jazz Theory, Music Theory, Improvisation, Private Lessons, etc.
-Warm and friendly, have experience with all age groups
-Patient and encouraging. I believe music is supposed to be fun; if you're not finding success reasonably fast (sounding okay), you won't enjoy it, my goal is for you to have fun and find success with exploring music.
