About Gonzalo
I’m a saxophonist, composer and educator with over 20 years of experience performing and teaching.
I studied music formally and specialized in jazz, and over the years I had the chance to learn from musicians such as Seamus Blake, Donny McCaslin, Dave Liebman, George Garzone, Fred Hersch and David Kikoski.

I work mainly with intermediate and advanced saxophonists who already have some technical and reading background and want to go deeper into improvisation, interpretation and overall musical understanding.

Excellent! Gonzalo is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable music teacher . His lessons are both interesting and challenging and have guided me towards a more structured and targeted approach to my practice . I feel my sax improv skills are definitely improving with Gonzalos guidance .

Perfect! I started training under Gonzalo after a 10 year break from saxophone playing. Our focus has been sound production and Jazz development. Gonzalo is an incredibly knowledgable and friendly instructor who brings a lot of enthusiasm and positivity to our lessons. As someone who has taught music before, I am very impressed with his natural teaching ability. His lessons are not formulaic but rather catered to your individual developmental needs. His approach inspires confidence yet I have felt a solid level challenge. I have progressed enormously since training with him and cannot recommend him enough as a saxophone instructor.

Perfect! Gonzalo was amazing he helped my son with his NYSSMA level 5 performance of Sonata In C Minor.
He was very good at seeing where he needed help even sending additional assignments a few times for him to work on in between lessons.
