My teaching methodology is based in taking an aural/improvisational approach to learning the drumset. So that means learning fundamental grooves, vocabulary, patterns, and coordination by ear and applying an element of play to internalize and personalize each different element.
Music notation and theory is taught after the sounds have become familiar with the student.
