About Aiyana
Hello!
I love working with students of all levels and ages. I'm a graduate of the The Juilliard School, the Curtis Institute of Music, and the University of Southern California's Thornton School of Music. I'm currently Adjunct Professor at Westminster Choir College of Rider University where I teach all levels of Music Theory, Ear Training, Keyboard Studies, and design graduate theory courses. My mentors include Pulitzer and Grammy-winning composer Jennifer Higdon, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Grammy-winning composer Ted Hearne, and David Serkin Ludwig, Dean of Music at The Juilliard School.
As a composer I'm fortunate to have received awards from the BMI Foundation, ASCAP Foundation, American Composers Forum, Copland House, and NYU’s Center for Ballet and the Arts. My compositions have been performed by the New York Philharmonic, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, New York Youth Symphony, Berkeley Symphony, and featured on NPR’s From the Top, PBS’s On Stage at Curtis, and I Care if You Listen.TV.
