About Megan
Hi, I'm Megan! I started knitting as a teenager after a friend told me it would complement my other "old lady" hobbies. (I guess I played more sudoku than the average 14-year-old!) Now, more than 8 years later, it's a daily activity for me.

My lessons target beginners interested in learning to knit from scratch or building on their skills. I teach basic stitches and stitch patterns, choice of yarn and other materials, pattern reading and selection, how to care for your finished projects, basic pattern modification, fixing mistakes, and more.
When I first started knitting, I found that though I was able to complete the actions of each stitch, I had little understanding of what those actions did. Because of this, I struggled to fix my mistakes and found knitting very frustrating. It took a lot of time (and a lot of ruined projects!) for knitting to become intuitive to me, and I can say that it is a much more relaxing activity now! My lessons will teach you not just the actions you do to make each stitch, but why we make them and how they contribute to the fabric. With this foundation, you'll be a confident knitter able to tackle whatever projects your heart is set on!
