About Krista

I’ve never had another job other than acting since 1994. It’s been my whole career. I’ve been coaching friends and friends of friends for 15 years on auditions and now I’m opening it up to a larger audience because it feels amazing when someone I'm coaching books a job, or gets representation. I have been writing for comics across the nation for 5 years and did my time on stage as well until the pandemic hit. I love finding the dark humor in the most inappropriate premise. I’ve written on multiple stand-up specials for comedians as a ghostwriter and continue that work as well as working and auditioning for projects.

Learning to trust your choices is a bit like solving a puzzle where the pieces keep changing shape, but that’s also where the fun is. I believe in a personalized approach—there’s no one-size-fits-all method to locking in a character.. My lessons are all about finding what works for you, embracing your unique voice, and tossing out anything that doesn’t resonate. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re a seasoned pro, I’m here to help shine like the star you are.

  • When did you start practicing? How did this passion find you?

I've been in the entertainment industry for years, but my passion for coaching really clicked when I saw how much I loved helping others unlock their potential. Teaching acting and comedy isn't just about technique-it's about getting people to trust themselves, take risks, and find their unique voice. I think that passion found me through all the experiences I've had, both in front of and behind the camera, and realizing that the best part of it all was helping others shine.
  • Which artists or works affect you the most?

I admire artists who challenge norms, blend humor with depth, and make people feel something real. Writers like George Orwell for his sharp societal insights, comedians like Bill Burr for his fearless honesty, and actors like Adam Sandler for their ability to balance comedy with heart. I'm drawn to anything that takes risks and isn't afraid to say something uncomfortable if it leads to a deeper truth.
  • What are the qualities and skills required to succeed in this area?

Resilience, adaptability, and a thick skin. The entertainment industry-whether it's acting, comedy, or political commentary-isn't easy. You have to be willing to fail, learn from it, and get back up. Creativity is a muscle, and the best artists are the ones who keep working even when they don't feel inspired. Also, emotional intelligence is key-you have to know how to read a room, adjust to different audiences, and deliver your work in a way that resonates.
  • What is the most valuable advice you can give to help someone stay focused on creative projects?

Stop aiming for perfection. Perfectionism is just fear in a fancier outfit. Make stuff, even if it's messy. Put it out there, get feedback, and keep going. Creativity is about movement, not waiting for some magical moment of inspiration. Also, have a system -whether it's deadlines, accountability partners, or structured practice time. The difference between professionals and hobbyists is consistency.
  • How would you describe your passion; how does it make you feel?

It feels like solving a puzzle that constantly changes shape. Every student, every project, every joke or scene has a different challenge, and I love figuring out what makes something click. There's a deep satisfaction in seeing someone break through their own limits, and that never gets old.
  • What creative achievements are you particularly proud of?

I'm proud of the work I've done helping students develop their craft-whether it's actors getting their first roles, comedians tightening their sets, or political commentators refining their voice. I'm also proud of my own writing projects, especially the satirical novel I'm working on. Creativity is about making things that matter to you, and I'm always pushing myself to do that.
  • Have you ever been surprised by a student; by their ability or quick progression?

All the time. Some students come in thinking they're not funny or charismatic, and then they tap into something unexpected. I love when someone surprises themselves-when they nail a comedic bit they thought they couldn't pull off or suddenly deliver a performance that's deeper than they realized they were capable of. That's the best part of coaching: seeing people discover their own potential.
  • Being a Superprof is an art! What is your secret?

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. I meet students where they are, figure out what makes them tick, and push them in a way that keeps them growing without making them feel like they have to be someone they're not. I also keep things real-no empty praise, no sugarcoating. I believe in being honest, constructive, and making sure my students walk away with real skills, not just good feelings.
