About Emily

Hello, I'm Emily!

I have been tutoring maths for 2+ years, specialising in KS3 and GCSE levels. During this time, I've helped numerous students improve their understanding of mathematics and achieve significant grade improvements.

My Qualifications:
• Astrophysics BSc. (Hons) from the University of St Andrews (ranked #1 in the UK by the Guardian Universities Guide 2023 & 2024)
• Over 2+ years of experience tutoring KS3, GCSE and A-Level students
• Deep knowledge of maths and physics, with a talent for breaking down complex topics

My journey through astrophysics has given me a profound understanding of mathematics, from algebra to calculus and everything in between. But don't worry – I won't be teaching you rocket science (unless you want me to)! Instead, I'm here to make maths accessible, engaging, and dare I say, fun.

About the lesson

At the heart of my tutoring is a simple principle: practice makes progress. Learning maths through active problem-solving, turning challenges into opportunities for growth.

Typical Lesson Plan (60 minutes)
• 5-10 minutes: Warm-up and review of previous material
• 40-45 minutes: Main lesson content
• 5 minutes: Key takeaways and homework assignment

Who Are Lessons For?
• KS3 & GCSE students ages 11-16 studying any major exam board (AQA, OCR, Edexcel, etc.)
• Students looking to improve their maths and physics skills.
• Those seeking tutoring before GCSE exams for intensive preparation.

What to Expect:
• 1-hour lessons available online and in-person (Bedford).
• Customised teaching style tailored to your learning needs.
• Sessions cover current school curriculum topics.
• Advanced topics available for students aiming for top grades.
