About Daniel
I am a recent graduate of East 15 Acting School, who has recently started teaching LAMDA Examinations virtually. Having trained for these exams at an earlier age, I feel that I have a great understanding of how to build confidence through performance, develop a strong speaking voice and physical presence, and how to prepare students for LAMDA Exams.

LAMDA Examinations can perform a sound basis to help build confidence from the ground up for a wide spectrum of children. My first session with students is a one-hour taster session, in which there is a discussion about what they hope to achieve, the aims of the performer and how much performance experience they have had prior to our first meeting. This enables me to adapt and plan my lessons to the individual, based on their capability. Then I prepare a weekly lesson plan of what I will cover in our hour session, which may also include extra tasks I expect my students to complete by the next session. I may also send tasks, texts or speeches in advance via email for the student to look at before our session. *With children below a certain age, I feel that, prior to the taster session, it is best to have a meeting with the parents virtually to assess their requirements. This will help me build a good picture of what is required. Throughout the session, I give feedback regularly and offer different ways of approaching a piece of text. By doing this, my hope is to improve the delivery of the student and facilitate their individual learning process. My sessions offer different methods, techniques and exercises, in order to develop trust between myself and the students and to also explore the talents and techniques of the individual. These can include improvisation, embodiment, role-playing, and relaxation exercises when required. Additionally, I also explore the scenes selected in theoretical depth, particularly with the Medal awards. This can include techniques in supporting the voice, the objectives of the character in the scenes performed and the character’s role within the context of the whole. Whether in-person or virtual, our sessions can be tailored to help you reach your individual goals.

Daniel taught my daughter Grade 8 solo acting, taking her after her previous teacher moved away. He was very easy to communicate with and very punctual and reliable with lessons. The lessons were online.
My daughter found the lessons fun and enjoyable and Daniel really rekindled her enthusiasm which had been waning. She went into the exam really well prepared and came away with a Distinction. A lot of this was down to Daniel’s lesson style and focusing on exam technique whilst still making the lessons fun. I would have no hesitation at all in recommending him.I’ve done countless shows with Dan and in each one he’s proved that he is one of the most versatile performers I’ve ever seen. His broad range of excellent physical and vocal skills will be of huge benefit to any young performer lucky enough to be in his tutelage. He also has a very calming and supportive present which is perfectly suited to nurturing and advancing young people’s skills.
