Nilabjada has now for a long time been a senior art teacher at Dolna Day School, and I have been one among his students. His approach to teaching is very holistic and creative. Besides the broad arena of art, he is extremely knowledgeable in(having researched on) diverse fields - history, philosophy, psychology among others- which knowledge he puts to practical use while teaching us. Learning under him is very enjoyable as he brings himself down to the level of the student and links whatever is taught with real life. He can recognize the students' unique potentials, fostering them over time - which helps build their confidence and allows them to maintain their individuality. His respect for the students' capabilities and patience with their own pace of learning comes through in his way of teaching. He is enthusiastic and sincere in his work. He is one of those rare professors who practise what they preach. He teaches us quietly, by his example to be honest, hard-working and understanding towards others. He is not only a teacher of art, but a 'teacher' in the broadest sense of the term, aiming, above all, to make of us wise, rational, responsible and good human beings.

Nilabja Bhattacharya has the ability to make a student overcome fears and be more confident about one's strengths. Moreover, Mr. Bhattacharya and his team can make the process of learning a fun one which in turn makes a student feel interested in studying. These are exactly what is needed to build a learning environment for the student to not just grow academically, but as a whole.

His classes not only offer you knowledge about the subject he is teaching but also about the various things that you need toknow to keep up in today's world . He as a teacher is very patient and is always trying to help his students to give their best .

A teacher is he who remains a teacher even when he isn't teaching you his own subject. Teaching isn't something that is limited with the constraints of a single subject or area. Nilabja da, has had a massive influence on who I am today and is one of those people who continue to influence minds for the better wherever he goes. He has taught me as much about his subject as about a hundred other subjects and just as much about life. He is an incredible person whose integrity, work ethic, open mindedness , intelligence, sense of humour , ability to think differently, of being true to oneself, and first and foremost being a good person gets channelised into his students who aspire to the values that he upholds. Each person has his own way of looking at the world, as does he, and what he has shown me is that my dream, my idea, and my vision of what the world can be like isn't unrealistic or utopic... If you can dream it, you can do it. I can think of no person more worthy of and more befitting the role of a teacher.

Nilabja sir is a great teacher. I really enjoy all his classes. His classes are very interesting. He encourages us to involve in different art and craft activities. He is very skilled in his field and gives his best to help his students.

He inspires students to keep working to achieve success. He encourages students to take risks, try out new ways and keep working hard. He is strict but really approachable at the same time.

He is very focused while teaching a student. He helps the student to explore more out of the box which helps in the development of a student as a person.

Nilabja da has a unique approach towards every subject. The way he explain a particular subject, makes it very easy and enjoyable to learn. He has the ability to make you look at a matter from a totally different perspective and of course it goes without saying that he has vast knowledge and grip over the matter he teaches which is enhanced by his excellent oratory skills! I have been mentored by Nilabja Bhattacharya (Nealda) in art, for almost four years now. He is a passionate and enthusiastic teacher who always encourages his students to be creative and think out of the box. His methods and form goes beyond the conventional boundaries of teaching. He's also a team player and enjoys to be occupied with his students. Apart from imparting education, he also establishes a very friendly relation with his students. As a result of this, I personally never feared to come out with my problems. His diverse work experience and knowledge, makes his lectures all the more interesting. Brilliant communicator and packs a truck load of knowledge on a multitude of different subjects, topics and discussions. He uses a perfect blend of orthodoxy and modernistic approach of teaching that ensures the students are learning something at every point and at the same time having fun while doing so. As he has a very fun loving and intimidating room presence, the students seem to be focused on him for the entire tenure of this classes. He has unique and unexpected but appropriate examples to illustrate his topics which are so out there that students cannot seem to ever forget the contents. He is extremely disciplined and professional in his approach and makes sure that he addresses each child individually and thoroughly. He is kind and loving, and a great listener thus all his students are comfortable being their original selves with him.

Somtimes you need to peep outside the bookish knowledge that you've acquired. You need perspectives and correct application, thus you need to come to him. He is an amazing explainer , making each session penetrate in a much easier way.

It is difficult to put Mr. Bhattacharya in the category of a conventional teacher. The paradigm of his knowledge, skills and interests is far too vast to limit him to one subject. He is a pleasure to listen to and at the same time an earnest listener. Students therefore are always learning something or the other from him and he is solving any problem the student may come up with. From my experience and close association with him for more than 5 years, I have only grown to realise that very few teachers can be as dedicated and as helpful as him. Every class with him, infact every interaction with him, is a learning experiencing in itself. The best guide and mentor one can ask for.

Beacause he is like us.. N does not behave like a teacher. N he teaches everything in a interesting way!
