About Joseph
Hi,
My name is Joseph Buckmaster.
I am a professional opera singer, working with some of the uk’s foremost opera companies.
I have been involved in music since I was 6 years old, when I took up singing in the local cathedral choir and began piano lessons.
I completed my Masters studies at the Royal Academy of Music and have an undergraduate degree from the Royal Northern College of Music.

Singing: Beginner - Professional
Music Theory
GCSE Preparation
Beginner Piano
Performance Technique
My focus in teaching is always to help the student find their own voice and understand key principles or breath, support, placement and projection.
It is so important that we understand the music in front of us, this is why music theory is crucial. I struggled with is growing up so really empathise with those who find it hard. I always relish helping people through struggles in learning, whether that be singing/performance/public speaking/theory/piano.
I have experience with students of all ages, am DBS certified and I am a member of the ISM.
Most importantly I always strive to help you have fun and enjoy making music.

I aim to help every singer find and access “their” voice rather than imitate others. All with a deep understanding of core technique. Producing their voice in the safest, and most efficient way.
No matter your age/vocal style, these lessons will improve your breath capacity and control, your vocal stamina/tone/characterisation.
