About Angus
I started language teaching way back in 1989, and have taught in Australia, Spain, the UK, Sweden and Ecuador, working with international organisations like the British Council and International House. I have been a Cambridge examiner for twenty years, interviewing students for the First Certificate, Preliminary and Proficiency exams, as well as IELTS. I have also written a large amount of online content for a leading learning platform: letslearnenglish.com

My lessons are student-centred, which means I get to know: a) the reason why you are learning the language. b) your level. c) your area of interest (general English, English for business, exam-preparation). I then prepare and give my classes based on this information. Unlike other teachers, I have access to an online learning platform, which means I can give you homework to do outside lesson time to strengthen what we do in class. My classes will contain lots of opportunities to speak and practise grammar that I explain to you with lots of examples. I will correct your mistakes and explain your errors, giving you the chance to correct yourself. You will always have the chance to tailor a lesson to a particular topic, and I can give you pre-lesson activities to do, so that we can make the most of our time together. We will study important aspects of English such as phrasal verbs, idiomatic language and word building.
