About Patrick

I am a certified Italian tutor with a diploma from MU (Mumbai University) as well as a proficiency Italian conversational course level from one of the prestigious University of Trento (Italy). More than 20 years of teaching the language to students in groups. Currently, I conduct classes online through Google Meets. You will be able to read, write, understand, and speak Italian quite easily.

About the lesson

I am a certified Italian tutor from the University of Trento (Italy). My teaching methods are structured so that the student learns conversational skills for a long duration. Teachings are from personalized PPT presentations, audio/visual content, and textbook-related short stories and dialogues. These sessions are once a week at a fixed time, well-constructed, simple and easy to understand

Perfect! Patrick is a great Italian language tutor and I would recommend him to not only students who are taking language in school but also for people like me who are learning language on their own. He is patient and supportive, but really knows how to motivate his students. He’s great at building confidence and keeping lessons fun and engaging through a variety of activities that improve conversation, writing, and reading skills. I recommend him highly.

Perfect! Even though I had learnt basic Italian 20 years ago, I had forgotten everything as I never got a chance to speak to anyone. I don't know why Italian language is not popular in India like Spanish, German and French, considering it is much easier to grasp and it not only gives a kind of positive energy filled with joy, it helps to exercise most of muscles of your face.
I am blesssed to be taught again and rejuvenate my knowledge of Italian language by a *highly experienced* and qualified teacher with the highlight being that all of his students, young or old, come out with flying colours.
A rare breed of GURUs who imparts knowledge at *Affordable rates* and a dedicated and humble father/brother figure who tries to bond with the child or adult even if it is in a group sessions. He makes sure that your pronunciation and enunciation sounds purely Italian. He gives you notes such as PPTs after every session and tries to understand your brain's capacity of Italian language absorption. This teacher doesn't teach for money.
His classes are a good way for you to understand his methodology of coming down to the person's level such as, considering a beginner to be a child as far as Italian language is concerned and making it fun for the student so that knowledge seeps into his/her brain effortlessly. Personal attention is given to each student as well as the freedom to ask their doubts and get their queries answered.

Details

Group coaching is Rs. 10000/- for the whole year from 2025-2026 which is approximately 52 weeks of classes to pick up the language skill. Classes will be online on weekends and students can choose any one day which is convenient i.e Saturday or Sunday from 12.00 pm to 1.00 pm. Trial class is free for 15 minutes and is only an introduction on the language. All study related matter will be shared to the students by email or on whatsapp.
The classes will be conducted from November 2025 to October 2026

Tell us more about your subject. How did you develop an interest in this field?
I teach Italian and swimming professionally as a freelance tutor. I took a liking to Italian while working in a sport store in Colaba after my graduation which was frequented by the Italian Airline Crew (Alitalia crew members). Most of them couldn't speak English so they used to converse in Italian. I gradually developed the interest and decided on taking a diploma course at the Mumbai University. My Italian professor encouraged me to take up the scholarship students exchange program in Italy for Proficiency in Italian language. After returning from my studies in Italy, I had many opportunities to work with Italian companies in the filed of textiles to make a successful career.
What or who is the motivation behind you choosing to teach & why?
During the lockdown, it was my wife Celia who encouraged me to teach the language to students because it is such a beautiful language and she herself is passionate about Italian cuisine and to understand the language quite well.
How does your work help society?
I have come across a lot of students who have taken admissions at Italian universities and knowledge of Italian is necessary. So in order to make it easy for students to learn, I have decided to teach and help the students in Italian language.
If you had to think of a role model for your work, who do you think of & why?
All the teachers who teach languages especially are my role models because they share their knowledge and skills to others.
Tell us about your hobbies outside teaching.
I am also an International accredited professional swim coach and this hobby of mine has transformed into a full time career. Its a life saving skill that one needs to learn and I am here to teach this as well to all my students. The only factor is that one should have an access to his/her swimming pool.
Do you have an anecdote to tell us about your student or professional life?
When your passion becomes your career, you enjoy your work and never retire. You don't need to look for work, the work will find you.
