About Lauren
I gained my fluency in Spanish from living in Barcelona, Spain where I attended high school and played on a Women’s Water Polo Division 1 club team. By attending school and playing with native Spanish speakers, I was completely immersed in the language and developed complete fluency in order to interact with my peers and teammates. I also attained 100% (A*) in my Spanish GCSE exam and an A in my Spanish A-level exam. I am now an undergraduate student pursuing a minor in Spanish. I have taught three students before, two beginners and one university level. One of my beginners attained A/A* grades in GCSE Spanish and the university level student attained A grades. All of my students have a wonderful appreciation for the language and culture.

I take an immersive approach to teaching Spanish. I will conduct the lessons in Spanish so that you are practicing the listening aspect of the language. I will also encourage you to respond in Spanish in order to practice your speaking and build up confidence in your ability. I also place a heavy focus on the Spanish accent because not only will this help you communicate with natives, but it will earn you points in your speaking exam! I want my lessons to be adaptable to every person’s individual learning technique so that you can maximise your learning potential. If you are a beginner and you know that you would prefer to work on conversational Spanish rather than reading then we can adapt to accommodate that. Alternatively, if you are working towards your GCSE exam and know that your reading is perfect but your grammar could use some work then we can accommodate that too! My end goal is to ensure that you are 100% confident in your Spanish abilities and you love the language as much as I do!
