Halo! My name is Ratih, and I am a native Indonesian speaker. I have a deep passion for my country's rich culture and diverse languages, and I love sharing this knowledge with people from all around the world.
As your tutor, I am known for being exceptionally patient, encouraging, and easy to talk to. I understand that learning a new language can feel intimidating at first, which is why I always strive to create a warm and supportive environment where making mistakes is just part of the fun.
Outside of teaching, I enjoy cooking local Indonesian food, and travelling. I love having engaging conversations about various topics, which makes our speaking practice feel natural and enjoyable. I cannot wait to meet you and guide you on your journey to mastering Indonesian!

Friendly Native Indonesian Tutor | Practical Language for Business Basics & Fun Casual Conversations!

Hello! My name is Ratih. i'm from Yogyakarta Indonesia. Our lessons are fully designed to match your personal goals and learning pace. Whether you are an absolute beginner starting from scratch, a student preparing for school exams (LOTE), an expat moving to Indonesia, or a traveller planning a trip, I will adapt my teaching materials just for you.

I focus on bridging the gap between polite communication and the vibrant, everyday language spoken on the streets of Indonesia. I promise our classes will be interactive, encouraging, and completely stress-free!

*** WHAT WE WILL FOCUS ON ***
We will focus on active communication. You will not just memorise grammar rules; you will practise speaking real-life Indonesian from your very first session!

1. Practical Business & Academic Basics
• Everyday Workplace Indonesian: Learn how to greet colleagues, introduce yourself politely, and handle basic office small talk.
• School Exam Prep (LOTE): Focused practices on speaking, listening, and reading comprehension to boost your grades.
• Cultural Etiquette: Understand Indonesian social norms and manners to communicate respectfully.

2. Casual Speaking & Street Smart Slang
• Real Conversations: Learn the everyday shortcuts (like ga, udah, aja) and expressive particles (like sih, deh, dong) that natives actually use.
• Real-Life Roleplays: Practice ordering food, bargaining at local markets, or chatting over coffee.

*** COMPREHENSIVE RESOURCES AFTER EVERY SESSION ***
To support your independent practice, I will share the following materials right after we finish each session:
• The PPT slides used during our class.
• A clear, easy-to-understand lesson summary.
• A customised vocabulary list tailored to our session.

*** AVAILABILITY & TIME ZONE NOTE ***
I offer flexible scheduling options to fit your routine. My available hours are:
• Weekdays (Monday to Thursday): 2:00 AM – 7:00 AM GMT AND 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM GMT.
• Fridays: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM GMT.
• Weekends (Sunday): Highly flexible until 3:00 PM UK time.
