About Wei
Hey, how's it going? I am glad to be talking to you here, which means you are interested in my mother tongue language, and my culture! So first of all let me tell you a little about myself.
I was born and raised in Guangzhou, some call it Canton, China. Moved to the UK at age 16 and now living in Switzerland with bf. I speak both Mandarin and Cantonese as my mother tongues.
I was a teacher in a Chinese independent school located in London from 2013 to 2016. I was teaching both Mandarin and Cantonese. My students aged from 3 to 15 and had very different levels of knowledge.
I was a freelance Interpreter for about 5 years, on and off during uni. Clients include hospitals, charities and social care. Provided assistant to medical counselling, procedures and other services.
I was an in-house translator for a central London casino. I translated gaming related leaflets and general information brochures for the casino, and I would be called to the scene when staff needs to communicate to Chinese players.
What I can provide is a personalised experience into the language and the cultural.
