About Zara

Salut! I'm Zara, and I'd love to help you fall in love with speaking French!

I'm 22 years old, born and raised in England, and a native English speaker who is also fluent in French.

My mum is French, so I grew up hearing French spoken around the house. Although English was my first language, French has always been part of my life.

At 18, I decided to move to France, and four years later, I'm still here!

I've spent most of that time living in Saint-Étienne, and I also spent some time in the beautiful French countryside in Boën-sur-Lignon. Living in different environments has given me firsthand experience of everyday French, local expressions, French culture and how people really communicate.

French isn't just a language I've learned — it's a language I use and experience every day.

So why learn with me?

Because I understand both sides of the experience.

As someone who grew up speaking English, I can explain French clearly in a language you're completely comfortable with. And as someone who has lived in France for four years, I can introduce you to the natural, everyday French you won't always find in a textbook.

I'm naturally friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic, and I believe learning a language should be exciting rather than intimidating.

I also absolutely love music! I'd be delighted to introduce you to French artists and different genres, using music as a fun way to improve your listening skills, discover new vocabulary and experience French culture.

My aim isn't simply to teach you French words. It's to help you feel confident enough to use them in real conversations, connect with French speakers and enjoy the language.
