About Maalii
In my family, we sang together. On car trips. In the evenings before bed. At family gatherings. And not just one song - lots of all kinds of different music, singing and harmonizing together. I loved it. From age 5, I had official piano lessons, but as 4th child of a musical family, I began to explore the keys much earlier. When I was 13, I took violin classes till I was 17, and voice lessons for one or two years. After High school , I studied piano at the University of Mozarteum in Salzburg Austria where I pursued my masters in music.
While finishing my degree in piano, I again took extensive Voice lessons. My passion for Singing grew and grew and completely took over my musical life. I pursued a vocal career, beginning at the Royal College of Music in London, after which I studied at Mannes School of Music, NYC. I’ve sang with New York City opera, Opera Seattle, Ppera Carolina, Opera Grand Radpids, Odyssey Opera Boston, Opera Kentucky, and many others. Singing is my Life ~ and I love sharing my passion for this exceptional instrument of the Human Voice.

My lessons are tailored to your needs and goals. Whatever you may want to express with your unique Voice will determine how I structure your lesson.
At the same time, there are vocal basics that apply to any genre, goal, or singing dream.
We will always start with warming up your voice with so called "Vocalises". These are exercises that don't only help your voice to grow but are also helping you to build a solid vocal technique that can be applied in any song, or vocal piece you'd like to sing.
I am a trained classical opera singer and teach healthy basics of the Voice first - after building a solid foundation, any genre is possible - and while I will make suggestions and bring in 'study pieces" as well, it is most important that you LOVE what you want to sing.

Magda is a great teacher and very interdisciplinary. I took German lessons with her for a long time and she was able to tailor lessons to my needs, from literature to writing to colloquial conversation. She is also a talented singer and was able to combine German lessons with classical singing lessons! Overall a highly recommended educator and just a rewarding person to talk to!
