About Shahima

Hola AMIGOS!

I am a native Spanish teacher from Colombia. I've been teaching Spanish for the last 14 years in the United States and all over the world (Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Europe...). I have developed an EASY and FUN way to learn this beautiful language.

Many people are taking advantage of this ONLINE PROGRAM (via Skype or Zoom- so simple and easy). You can try 30 minute FREE lesson to see if you like it or not.

My GOAL is teaching you how to have CONVERSATIONS from the very first class. I am not going to waste your time teaching you topics you DON'T NEED!

You will be able to learn the language by practicing with different activities. My lessons are very dynamic. I promise you the way I teach Spanish you will love it but also it will be faster for you to COMMUNICATE in Spanish.

We will have conversations, grammar, listening and reading. Movies and music are essential during my lessons. You'll feel like traveling into the Hispanic Culture. Spanish through the Arts, Spanish through the flavors, Spanish through the culture.

My students testimonial :

"Working with Shahima as my tutor last summer was one of my favorite parts of the season. Not only did I learn so much Spanish, but I met a great woman and teacher with whom I really enjoyed spending my time. During each lesson, we did a new fun, learning activity and Shahima really pushed me to be better. We read, listened to great music and even did interviews with local Spanish speakers. I never thought I would read a novel in Spanish, but after just a few months of lessons with her, I was able to read novels in Spanish for pleasure! I learned with Shahima right before I went to live in Ecuador for 6 months and compared to other American students, I felt that my grasp of the Spanish language was truly great. My confidence in speaking the language improved immensely. Without her help, I do not think that the transition would have been as smooth. I think Shahima's greatest skill is making learning fun while really pushing her students to expand their base of knowledge. I could not recommend Shahima more highly! ¡Ella es la mejor profesora de Español que he tenido!"

"I am working with Shahima via Skype and it is fantastic! She can share her computer screen to access videos, articles, and exercises, and can correct and discuss written work real-time. She is very creative in assigning engaging and diverse activities between sessions that require work on grammar and comprehension as well as written and oral communication"
