About Xavier

As a seasoned Spanish educator with over 5 years of experience teaching at both K-12 and undergraduate levels, I bring a wealth of expertise and dedication to every lesson. Hailing from San Juan, Puerto Rico, I am a native speaker deeply rooted in the language and culture, offering students an authentic and immersive learning experience.

My journey as a teacher has been shaped not only by classroom instruction but also by my role as a facilitator in translator capacities, bridging communication gaps between teachers and students, as well as facilitating parent-teacher interactions.

With a commitment to professionalism, integrity, and excellence, I strive to inspire confidence in my students, establishing a supportive and empowering learning environment where every individual can thrive. You can trust in my expertise and dedication to guide you on your Spanish language journey with confidence and success.

About the lesson

As a passionate Spanish tutor, my approach revolves around creating an immersive and engaging learning experience for my students.

What you'll find in my lessons:
• Warm-up activities for setting the tone.
• Presenting vocabulary in relatable contexts.
• Introducing the rules of pronunciation and spelling systematically.
• Offering lexical and comparative modules that explore the diverse cultures of the Spanish-speaking world.
• Teaching Spanish grammar through both graphics and communicative practice.
• Providing recaps to reinforce lessons learned.
• Offering follow-up materials with reading and writing exercises.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my dedication to creating a personalized learning journey for each student. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced learner, my lessons are tailored to your specific needs and goals. Whether you’re learning Spanish for academic purposes, travel, or personal enrichment, I provide a supportive and dynamic learning environment to help you achieve fluency and confidence in the language. Aprendamos el español juntos.

I had Xavier as a tutor for college Spanish in 2021. The class was very difficult with distance learning, but I was able to make it through with an A thanks to his work ethic, humility, humor, and ability to get information and technique to stick. I also had the opportunity to play percussion alongside him and play some of his compositions and can attest to his musical ability firsthand.
