About Andrew
From small towns to big cities, Andrew Van Allen has made it his mission to open the public eye to the beauty of artistic expression. He started his 19-year artistic journey at the age of 3 and later graduated with his BFA in Dance from the Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University. Andrew is an aspiring professional performer, choreographer, and filmmaker, working independently and collaboratively with various artistic groups, including but not limited to Site-Specific Dances, Fever's We Call it Ballet, and Orange Grove Dance. He has worked across the Northeast, California, and Canada. He is best known for his feature in the dance film Only We Know by Mia Michaels. As an aspiring dance filmmaker and choreographer, Andrew has worked independently, most recently presenting his contemporary piece entitled "Catch Your Breath" with Marie-Amelle Thenoz at the Peabody Institute, and his dance film with Eon Allum entitled "Unlit" at the American Collegiate Dance Association.

My goal is to help everyone understand and appreciate the importance of movement. I work with students to create a collaborative atmosphere, inspiring creative freedom and an emphasis on individual expression. We should ALL be comfortable with moving our bodies, however that may be. I'm here to help develop not only the physical, but the mental and emotional that connects us to dance.
Open to ANY LEVEL, willing to structure a class that meets YOUR needs. Experience teaching ages 3-18+. Experience also teaching various adults and non-dancers.
