About Naomi
I am a violin tutor with over 8 years of experience and a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Violin Performance. I specialise in teaching young children, using playful and age-appropriate strategies that make learning enjoyable. My lessons incorporate storytelling, rhythm games, movement, and simple melodies to teach both technique and musicianship. I draw inspiration from Suzuki and Kodály methods, adapting them to each child’s pace and personality. I focus on developing listening skills, coordination, and a sense of musical expression from an early age. Lessons are interactive and imaginative, helping children connect with music in meaningful ways. I encourage creativity, curiosity, and confidence, making each session fun and engaging. My goal is not just to teach notes, but to spark a lifelong love for the violin. Through games, songs, and movement, children learn to play while enjoying the process. I celebrate small achievements and milestones, making learning motivating and joyful. Every lesson is designed to inspire imagination, nurture musical growth, and make the violin a source of happiness. Learning with me is playful, expressive, and full of musical discovery.

My teaching methodology focuses on creating a balanced connection between the body, mind, and music. I emphasise physical awareness, guiding students to play with relaxed left-hand technique, smooth bowing, and mindful breathing. I encourage visualising musical patterns to help learners anticipate phrasing, dynamics, and flow. Lessons focus on building healthy practice habits, preventing strain, and fostering comfort while playing. I guide students to maintain mental focus while staying emotionally safe, creating an environment where curiosity and creativity thrive. Exercises are designed to promote ease of movement, expressive playing, and musical imagination. I support learners in setting achievable goals and celebrating progress, whether working on technical skills, expressive pieces, or improvisation. Attention to posture, tension release, and rhythmic precision is integrated gently into each session. Through playful yet structured learning, students develop confidence, fluidity, and a deeper connection to their music. I help them cultivate both technical skill and emotional expression. My approach nurtures patience, creativity, and self-awareness, allowing students to enjoy every step of their violin journey.
