About Savannah
I’m a guitarist and teacher with 4 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in World Music, specialising in Guitar Traditions. My academic background gave me a wide appreciation for music across cultures, but my true passion has been shred, metal, and progressive rock. These are genres that thrive on energy, precision, and creativity. I help students master techniques that open the door to advanced playing, from sweeping arpeggios to high-speed alternate picking. My lessons combine technical exercises with real musical application. I work with both young learners who are discovering their passion and adult students chasing ambitious goals. Teaching is about meeting students where they are and guiding them forward step by step. I emphasise clean execution and control before layering on speed. This ensures confidence grows naturally over time. My methods also draw on influences from world music, adding depth and originality to guitar phrasing. Lessons are engaging, structured, and designed to challenge without overwhelming. I aim to give students both the skills and the mindset of a strong guitarist. My guitar lessons are designed to be warm, interactive, and purpose-driven. I specialise in fingerstyle guitar, bringing out the elegance of intricate arrangements and classical works. Students work on advanced picking techniques, learning classical repertoire, and arranging popular songs for solo guitar. Sheet music literacy is an important part of my approach. To make challenging material manageable, I use visual aids, exact demonstrations, and the discipline of slow-practice techniques. This creates steady progress without frustration. I’ve worked closely with artists who want refined detail for recording projects, as well as adult learners determined to grow steadily. Each student benefits from lessons that match their pace and vision. I emphasise patience while staying focused on goals. Students leave sessions not only with better technique but also with greater confidence in their artistry. My lessons blend detail and expression in equal measure. The guitar becomes a canvas for both structure and creativity. Together, we’ll explore the beauty of fingerstyle music and bring out the best in your playing.
