About Richard
I have dedicated 20 years of my life to working on a cruise ship as a band leader and violinist. During my time there, I had the pleasure of teaching students and crew members during vacations. Since retiring in 2020, I have shifted my focus to offering both online and in-person violin lessons. I am passionate about music and believe in providing a structured learning environment, where a gentle push is sometimes necessary for students to thrive. However, I always ensure that the learning experience remains enjoyable and engaging.

I believe in the value of traditional teaching methods when it comes to learning the violin. There’s something incredibly rewarding about mastering the basics, such as scales and proper posture. I’ve found that a strong foundation is essential for developing skills that make playing easier and more enjoyable in the long run. By focusing on these fundamental aspects, students can cultivate a deeper connection with their instrument and enhance their overall musical journey.
