About Jane
Hi! My name is Jane and I am a first year law student at the University of York. I am intelligent, hardworking and dedicated, as well as being experienced in working with young students and supporting them. This includes being a History Prefect which involved running a weekly History club to support struggling students and help them develop a passion for the subject. I am also incredibly patient, caring and contentious, as exemplified through my past role as a Year 7 Form Mentor, where I would work with 30 pupils and help them make the transition into secondary school.
I enjoy teaching, and I know from my own experience of having a tutor that the difference they make is incredible. I would like to make this difference in someone's life, helping them achieve the best of their potential and supporting them with their studies.

My lessons will be an hour long, and they are aimed towards either 15-16 year olds studying for their History/Religious Studies GCSE or 17-18 year olds studying History/Religious Studies A-Level. Lessons will involve going over content and areas of struggle, marking and giving feedback on essays, looking at top-level answers and understanding why they are at this level, and going over the best ways to structure, analyse, and write answers.
I am very experienced with these subjects, achieving grade 9's at GCSE and A*AA at A-Level. I am also an experienced tutor, having recently set up an A-Level History Masterclass, involving a 2 hour Zoom session with over 20 students going over structure, analytical skills, critical thinking and the best ways to achieve an A* in A-Level History.

She incredibly patient, kind and caring and will put 100% of her effort into teaching. I have seen this at the forefront in an A-Level history masterclass we ran together. Not only did she eloquently explain difficult concepts to the students but she also took the time to understand the student’s queries within the session and actively respond, adapting her responses for each individual student to support their needs.
